From Korea with love

We keep hearing about K-beauty and Korean cosmetics that promise flawless, glowing skin.

But why have Korean beauty products suddenly become so popular?

Korea and other Asian countries such as Japan have a centuries-old tradition of making cosmetics. Korean culture and beauty standards include a youthful, glowing, flawless skin known as glass skin. Glass skin is not a new trend, it is the love for firm, soft, luminous skin. Their obsession for the perfect skin, led them to knowledge and development of cosmetics so that high quality skincare products do not cost a fortune. The spread of Korean cosmetics to the rest of Asia, Australia and then to North America has already been over a decade. In recent years, Korean beauty products have also made their appearance in Europe and have been steadily gaining ground ever since. Beauty specialists and beauty vloggers love them and once their audience gets to know them, they follow them faithfully even though they are not particularly advertised. One of the reasons they have a loyal following is the huge variety of products, with each product serving a different purpose. Another reason is the techniques and ways of applying them. Their application is essentially a care ritual on a daily or weekly basis that promises an immediate improvement of the facial skin. Korean skincare products are not just products, they are part of a whole skin care process. Daily and weekly you clean / exfoliate / tone / nourish / moisturize and generally treat your skin with a series of different products that at every step offer the necessary ingredients to your skin.  Read more here about the 10 step ritual of the Korean beauty routine.

Is daily beauty care with so many different products necessary?

The answer depends on how important the appearance of your skin is to you and how much you want to have a radiant face. If the care you have been doing until now is summed up in a moisturizer or even a sunscreen, then we will answer you that under no circumstances is your skin receiving all the necessary ingredients. All these products that you are asked to use on your skin serve only one purpose. There is no 1 product or even 2 that will cover all the needs of every skin and anyone who claims that is just lying. Every skin is unique and is not only categorized by type but also according to its needs. And his needs are different even during the day. In addition, our needs depend on many other factors such as age, hormones, diet, exposure to the sun. A simple cleanse and moisturizer doesn't even come close to what we call facial care. Apparently they don't take care of the skin in depth. The effect on the skin after the K-beauty routine is obvious because the products have been made for this very reason to improve the appearance of the skin according to its needs and also because the care routine is a ritual of care. We generally believe that what we take good care of becomes better. The face is properly cleansed, toned, enriched with nourishing and moisturizing ingredients and a shield is created to protect it from atmospheric pollutants and the harmful rays of the sun. Any skin issues like rashes, acne and others are taken care of with the right products and cured. The skin responds to this meticulous care and radiates.

In addition, it feels good to do something beautiful for yourself. A bit of quarantine, a bit of telecommuting, we have more free time and this is a good reason to make facial care a daily habit. The Korean care routine is the most suitable.
